Bear was found on the streets, close to death. His ribs were protruding and he could barely stand, he was so starved. I took him home and found out that his throat was severely swollen from an upper respiratory infection that took a month to clear up. That was why he was starving to death, literally. He also had to be treated for heartworms for two months after that. Even though he was fixed, his owner could never be located. I suspect he was dumped on the street when he got sick. He is now fully vetted and healthy. He went from 68 pounds to a gorgeous 90 pounds. He loves his daily walks and tries to play with his foster brothers, including a small chihuahua, although he is not so sure how about chase and tug of war. He also loves to nudge the cats with his head, saying hello. He is like velcro, sticking by my side, waiting for a forever home.
